April 2026 sire lineup

Normande Genetics offers different ways to view information on our sires:

The April 2026 evaluations are in, and our numbers held strong.

Tinorossi

Like every spring in France, the rolling base has been adjusted. In the US, this adjustment happens every five years — and this year, the French base rose by 200 lbs. of milk. That means a bull whose milk index dropped 200 lbs. has effectively remained stable. Nearly all traits undergo the same adjustment. For a full breakdown of how each trait was affected, visit our page “More on Normande Proofs & Pedigrees.”

Many of our bulls have also added new daughters to their numbers, so you’ll notice some changes — but they’re minor, and our lineup remains strong. Please note that a few bulls are being discontinued.

We’re also pleased to report that despite tariffs and health restrictions complicating sourcing, we’ve managed to secure some great additions. Because of the difficult economic situation, and in spite of our own issues, we have also not raised our prices but that can change any time.

New This Cycle

We’re introducing one new bull: Texass (two s’s — not a typo). He has a very well-balanced profile, and while his component percentages aren’t exceptionally high, the fat/protein ratio is ideal for cheesemakers and his milk is very good. We’re also renewing  sexed semen availability from Seagal, Texass, Tinorossi, Treasure, and Tzess — check availability on our website or contact us.

The Lineup

Lamier, our shortest bull, sees his milk index rise after the rolling base adjustment and remains our best easy-calving option.

Landel offers a rare combination of production, functionality, and calving ease — a reliable, well-rounded choice.

Licorice, a components bull, maintains his excellent protein and fat percentages — and even improves them this cycle.

Maanonu continues to assert his extraordinary dairy performance, adding more daughters while maintaining a great udder.

Nestar, a son of superstar Jesse, channels his sire’s strengths: remarkable milk numbers, dual-purpose qualities (small stature, great body depth), and exceptional functionals including one of our best somatic cell counts. He performs across the board again this cycle, with more daughters to back it up.

Nintendo shows a favorable protein ratio for cheesemaking, solid milk numbers, and great feet & legs.

Niville delivers the best combination of beef value, udder type, and functionals in our lineup — and his milk numbers are up again. His new daughters keep raising the bar. Like a fine wine, he just keeps getting better.

Olympe (A2A2, BB Kappa Casein, great feet & legs) and Ocasse (A2A2, AB Kappa Casein) carry the highest fat percentages we’ve ever offered. It’s cream. Both are medium-sized dual-purpose bulls with solid milk and functionals — and don’t overlook Ocasse’s outstanding body depth.

Oroi has been a bestseller in France, with production that keeps climbing as new daughters come in, alongside great dual-purpose qualities, good legs, and a solid udder.

Paluel stands out for his ideal protein/fat ratio for cheesemaking, phenomenal body depth, outstanding longevity, and fertility — all confirmed by his incoming daughters.

Pilier, one of our best sellers, is back with his consistently excellent numbers across the board.

Portsall remains a top choice for cheesemakers thanks to his highly favorable protein/fat ratio, and he pairs that with a very good udder.

Reflexion is a longtime favorite we’re pleased to bring back — a beautiful bull with great body depth, compact size, excellent feet & legs, and one of our highest combined protein + fat figures.

Riddick offers a strong milk/components balance with our best feet & legs and fertility indexes.

Seagal is an interesting BB Kappa Casein option with very good milk, positive fat and protein percentages, great udder depth, and solid beef value.

Taroyal is your bull if you’re looking for milk, a tight udder, and excellent functionals.

Tinorossi had an outstanding run this cycle for both milk and components, with medium size and superb fertility.

Treasure, a long-bodied bull, rivals Lamier for best calving ease and brings a full package: strong milk, very high components, great feet & legs, the best udder in our lineup, and remarkable functionals.

Twist combines milk, components, beef value, and spectacular functionals — including our best udder health, udder depth, somatic cell count, and fertility. His calving ease also improved this cycle.

TzessBB Kappa Casein, great components, our second-highest combined protein + fat, small stature, and one of our best fertility indexes — is also one of our deepest-chested sires.
